Dear Bride and Groom.
Firstly congratulations on your forthcoming wedding:
We would be delighted to help you organise your special day here in Cyprus during your stay at Theanan
Seaview Villas.
The most important first step is to secure a date to ensure availability.
All weddings are conducted from Monday through to Friday and times will vary depending on the type of
ceremony you can have.
The choices are:
Church Wedding (both Anglican and Catholic)
Prices for 2007 are 350.00 Cyprus Pounds - we have not been notified of any change in price yet for 2008. We
have two lovely churches, The St Paul’s Pillar which is situated in the heart of Kato Paphos and surrounded by
ancient pillars (hence the name!!!!) and the St Georges Church which is the smaller of the two but beautifully
designed and set next to the sea.
The Town Halls which are the closest to Theanan Seaview Villas are - Peyia Town Hall (the closest to the
villas) is set in a lovely outside courtyard where the ceremony will take place under a canopy and Paphos
Town Hall – a popular choice for an indoor ceremony in the centre of Paphos Town. The cost at present for
2007 for a Church Wedding is 350.00 Cyprus Pounds and 165.00 for the marriage licence and for a civil
165.00 Cyprus Pounds - both payable upon arrival.
Regarding Legal Matters - the paper work will depend upon which type of ceremony you choose. Please
review the legal page in the information sent to you which will advise you on the necessary paper work.
However, we can not take responsibility for the correct paper work being provided but we will act on your
behalf when you are here to take you to the town hall to make the necessary applications.
Wedding Packages – we have on offer a list of Special Packages which we have put together to suit all
tastes. We do find however that many brides wish to create a tailor made package and therefore we are more
than happy to work with you to create a package suitable for you, just let us know what you want and we will
get prices for you. We have a number of excellent suppliers from florists to cake makers. Regarding
transport, this can be included in any package and ranges from decorated wedding cars, to mini-buses,
horse and carriage and village bus. Also our photographers have many different packages including deluxe
luxury albums to sunset shots.
We work closely with Thea at Theanan Seaview Villas and would be delighted to act as your wedding co-
ordinator during your stay.

About the Wedding Coordinators:
The wedding coordinators are an established Paphos based company and are one of the biggest wedding
companies in Cyprus with an ever expanding portfolio of clients.
There are two directors running the company and a fantastic and supportive team of wedding co-ordinators on
board. These directors have had a working history of event and party organising and have now been based in
Paphos for over 5 years. One of the directors was born and bred in Yorkshire; she has been based in Cyprus
since 1992, and has a strong background in PR, Guest services management and event planning. Another of
the directors was born in London in 1977 and worked abroad in entertainment management bringing her to
Cyprus in 1997 where she had worked in Entertainment and PR.
They understand the importance of special occasions and co-ordinate the necessary arrangements on your
behalf. The personal touch is very important to them, so they carefully plan everything you will need from start
to finish.

Legalities & Information you need to know
LEGALITIES:
(A note from Theanan Seaview Villas). The information and prices listed here is a guide and all legalities
and prices must be confirmed with the wedding coordinator.
All wedding ceremonies are conducted in English and your marriage will be fully recognised in the United
Kingdom.
Should you choose to get married in Cyprus, you will need the following documents which you will need to fax
the wedding coordinator one month prior to the wedding date in order for them to check the documents with
the Town Hall. The original documents will need to be produced by both of you at the Town Hall on arrival to
Paphos.
You will need two witnesses to sign for you – the coordinators are happy to oblige - Please inform them if this
is required.
1. Passport (10 year).
2. Birth Certificate (not always necessary - contact us!).
3. If divorced, decree absolute.
4. If widowed, death certificate or any previous marriage certificate.
5. If under 18 year's old, letter of consent from parents or guardian.
6. Affidavit for UK passport holders - must be obtained from solicitor - contact us! (Ask for a sample copy).
7. If you are not from UK a "Freedom to Marry certificate" from your countries embassy original documents
only.
*** Please note – It is recommended you arrive at least 7 nights before the date of the wedding.
So to recap - make sure you have!
1. Certificate of No impediment of Marriage (each country has a different department that can provide this
certificate)

Anglican weddings
Ayia Kyriaki Church or St George’s Church.
Before your wedding can take place you must apply for a marriage license from one of the regional Town halls
(please see civil ceremonies for paperwork requirements).
For the Anglican / Catholic wedding, the wedding coordinator will arrange a meeting with the local priest to
finalise details for your ceremony. All documents and your marriage license must be presented during this
meeting.
This fee will be CYP 350 payable directly to the church for your wedding ceremony.

Seating capacity: 18 people seated and a further 10 standing.
Catholic Church weddings
All Catholic weddings must start with a legal ceremony at either one of the Town halls, followed by a Catholic
church service. The legal ceremony at the Town hall can be conducted on the same day as the church
wedding service. It is a very quick process and most brides treat it as a mere formality and look on the
Catholic service at the church as their true wedding ceremony. Guests usually do not need to attend the Town
hall ceremony and the wedding coordinators would happily step in as your two required witnesses – please
inform the coordinator if this will be required.

3. Certificate of baptism
4. Affidavit or certificate signed by a solicitor in your country indicating that you are single and free to marry.

Blessings
For those of you who would prefer a civil wedding and then a blessing this can be arranged. The cost of the
Blessing ceremony is CYP180 – CYP 250 depending when & where the blessing is held - and then you will
pay a hire charge dependent on the location you choose.

CYP 165 wedding license fee payable directly to Town hall on arrival in Cyprus. You must be in Cyprus five
working days before your wedding date (working days are Monday-Friday inclusive).

Legalities & Information you need to know
LEGALITIES:
(A note from Theanan Seaview Villas). The information and prices listed here is a guide and all legalities
and prices must be confirmed with the wedding coordinator.
All wedding ceremonies are conducted in English and your marriage will be fully recognised in the United
Kingdom.
Should you choose to get married in Cyprus, you will need the following documents which you will need to fax
the wedding coordinator one month prior to the wedding date in order for them to check the documents with
the Town Hall. The original documents will need to be produced by both of you at the Town Hall on arrival to
Paphos.
You will need two witnesses to sign for you – the coordinators are happy to oblige - Please inform them if this
is required.
1. Passport (10 year).
2. Birth Certificate (not always necessary - contact us!).
3. If divorced, decree absolute.
4. If widowed, death certificate or any previous marriage certificate.
5. If under 18 year's old, letter of consent from parents or guardian.
6. Affidavit for UK passport holders - must be obtained from solicitor - contact us! (Ask for a sample copy).
7. If you are not from UK a "Freedom to Marry certificate" from your countries embassy original documents
only.
*** Please note – It is recommended you arrive at least 7 nights before the date of the wedding.
So to recap - make sure you have!
1. Certificate of No impediment of Marriage (each country has a different department that can provide this
certificate)
2. Birth Certificates
3. Passports
4. Decree Absolute (if you are divorced)
5. Death Certificate in case of widow or widower.
** Please note on all packages an additional fee is payable for the marriage certificate to the Municipal of
Marriage Officer at the Town Hall - church weddings and town hall weddings have different fees.
Church Weddings
Anglican weddings
Ayia Kyriaki Church or St George’s Church.
Before your wedding can take place you must apply for a marriage license from one of the regional Town halls
(please see civil ceremonies for paperwork requirements).
For the Anglican / Catholic wedding, the wedding coordinator will arrange a meeting with the local priest to
finalise details for your ceremony. All documents and your marriage license must be presented during this
meeting.
This fee will be CYP 350 payable directly to the church for your wedding ceremony.
Required Paperwork for the Anglican Wedding.
1. Passports.
2. Birth Certificates.
3. Affidavit.
4. Decree Absolute (if applicable).
5. Death Certificate (if applicable).
6. Only originals accepted.
Ayia Kyriaki Church
Wedding ceremonies are held on Monday and Tuesday.
Seating capacity: up to 150 people; 80 seated and 150 standing.
St Georges Church
Wedding ceremonies are held on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday
Seating capacity: 18 people seated and a further 10 standing.
Catholic Church weddings
All Catholic weddings must start with a legal ceremony at either one of the Town halls, followed by a Catholic
church service. The legal ceremony at the Town hall can be conducted on the same day as the church
wedding service. It is a very quick process and most brides treat it as a mere formality and look on the
Catholic service at the church as their true wedding ceremony. Guests usually do not need to attend the Town
hall ceremony and the wedding coordinators would happily step in as your two required witnesses – please
inform the coordinator if this will be required.

2. Birth certificates.
3. Certificate of baptism
4. Affidavit or certificate signed by a solicitor in your country indicating that you are single and free to marry.
5. Decree absolute (in case of divorce).
6. Death certificate (in case of a widow or widower).

Wedding ceremonies are held on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Seating capacity: up to 150 people (80
seated, 150 standing).
ST George's Church
Wedding ceremonies are held on Monday and Tuesday. Seating capacity: 18 people seated and a further 10
standing.
Blessings
For those of you who would prefer a civil wedding and then a blessing this can be arranged. The cost of the
Blessing ceremony is CYP180 – CYP 250 depending when & where the blessing is held - and then you will
pay a hire charge dependent on the location you choose.

Paphos Town Hall
CYP 165 wedding license fee payable directly to Town hall on arrival in Cyprus. You must be in Cyprus five
working days before your wedding date (working days are Monday-Friday inclusive).
Paperwork required:
1. Passports.
2. Affidavit or certificate signed by a notary Public in your country indicating that you are single and free to
marry. (Ask us for a sample copy!).
3. Decree absolute (in case of divorce).
4. Death certificate (in case of a widow or widower).
5. Please note that only originals are accepted.

Monday- Friday 09.30-13.30.
Thursday afternoon only 15.30-17.30.

Held inside the town hall during all seasons.

CYP 200 depending on the venue & CYP 165 license, for weddings held after 16:00 at other venues.
Peyia Town Hall
CYP 165 wedding license fee payable directly to the Town hall on arrival in Cyprus.
You must be in Cyprus five working days before wedding date.
